This update brings a number of new features with it alongside a June Android security patch. The latest update has the build number MIUI 11.0.1.0.QCNCNXM and is about 2GB in size. This update brings all the improvements of the Android 10 alongside an upgraded June 2020 security patch.
Users are advised to back up their data before upgrading their device, as some apps seem to have compatibility issues with the new update. With users in China already receiving the update, the update is expected to roll out in other regions in the next few weeks. With Xiaomi looking to bring MIUI 12 to more of its devices, it is great to see that they have not totally abandoned other devices and are still updating their older smartphones to Android 10. The company has specified that Redmi 8 is due to receive MIUI 12 update in the coming months. References
